Advisory on Bank Fees for Deposit Accounts – BSP

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas(BSP) advices the public on the different fees and charges that a deposit account might incur.

Maintenance Fees

  • May be charged if the minimum monthly Average Daily Balance(ADB) has not been met for at least 2 consecutive months
  • The depositor has been notified 60 days prior to imposition of maintenance fees
  • The amount of fees are disclosed in the deposit terms and conditions signed by the depositor

Dormancy Fees

  • May be charged if there is no account activity (withdrawal or deposit), for 5 years.
  • The account balance is below the minimum monthly ADB
  • The depositor has been notified through all available channels(mail, email, fax, text, call), atleast 60 days before:
    • the account becomes dormant
    • the bank imposes the dormancy fee
